Founded on 1 January 1882, Cassa di Risparmio della Repubblica di San Marino (Savings Bank of the Republic of San Marino, CDR) is the oldest bank based in San Marino, an enclaved microstate (current population: 33,000) surrounded by Italy. As of 2015, it is also the largest bank in San Marino, consisting of 16 branches and operating as both a retail and commercial bank for San Marino citizens and as an offshore private bank for non-resident clients.
